I love alphabet stamp sets - they are just so useful, and you never suffer the horrors of running out of vowels! I use them lots on scrapbook layouts - as titles, subtitles, labels and embellishments... but on cards I have a tendency to stick with sentiments and images.
I made this card for my dad - definately a man who does not appreciate pretty images of cupcakes and birthday bunting, but who also is not someone to want pictures of racing cars or fishing. So.. difficult then!
I used the same basic layout as the cupcake card I showed last month, but this time I let the alphabets take the front seat. Easy peasy, quick and simple, and not too pretty!
First I stamped the word 'happy' using the Budmo Jiggler set. This is a seriously fabulous set of alphabet stamps. One of my favourite way of making scrapbook page titles is with this set - if you heat emboss them and cut them out, they look amazing raised up on foam pads as a title.
I added a bit of stitching too to add some texture and interest to an otherwise quite plain card.
The word 'birthday' was stamped using the De Louisville tadpole set. I love the size of this set - it's perfect for cards and also works brilliantly as captions or part of titles on layouts. (And I've just seen that the Budmo Jiggler also comes in tadpole size too - I think I might *need* those!)
A bit more haphazard stitching...
And finally, a little sentiment stamped inside and surrounded by stars. These are from the Charming Prince set (which is full of little bits and pieces like these which can be used on all sorts of projects).
Banana Frog alphabets are the best (and no, I wasn't told to tell you that!). As well as the ones I used on this card, I love Willing Race (which I use all the time), and I have my eye on the Pharmacy and Teen Large set too.
I just found the Bananafrog website and I love the style. There is a fun, happy, minimalist style that I really appreciate. I am going to check back often so I can enjoy the art and design.
