Hi Everyone!
I was recently bitten by the baking bug after picking up a fab recipe book during my weekly shop. I just couldn't put it down, and now that I've tried a couple of recipes thought it time to combine my baking project with my some stamping to make this:
What you'll need:
- Some yummy cupcakes
- Cardstock or double-sided paper
- Your choice of stamps and inks
- Decorative edge scissors
- Tissue paper or parchment
- Optional extras: Pens to colour, Stickles glitter
1. First up, download this free cupcake wrapper template (it will open as a pdf).
2. Print the template onto some sturdy paper/card - in the Page Scaling options select "None" as you want the template to print at actual size.
3. Cut out the printed template as this is what we'll use to trace the wrapper on other paper and cardstock.
4. On some double-sided paper, trace around the template with a pencil on the main pattern side as this will be the inside of the cupcake wrapper. I've used some double dot paper from Bo Bunny here.
5. Cut roughly around the wrapper template, as this will make it easier to use the decorative scissors to create a nice edge.
6. Once you've cut the decorative edge for the wrapper, cut out the rest, and erase any pencil lines.
7. Now flip over the wrapper, and select your stamps to decorate it.
8. I used Copics to colour in the little cupcakes.
9. Once ready, cut the slits as shown in the template.
The next step depends on whether your cupcakes are iced to the edge or not. If not proceed as follows.
10. Use a piece of sticky tape to hold the ends in place once assembled. You may have to trim some of the overlap to tidy up the join.
10. Cut a couple of 5 x 5 in. squares of parchment or tissue paper.
11. Arrange the tissue paper inside the wrapper and place the cupcake into the wrapper.
If the icing is to the edge on your cupcakes, you may find it easier to assemble the wrapper around the cupcake, and tissue/parchment paper.
12. Once the cupcake is in the wrapper add any finishing touches.
Then stand back and admire, because once it's in that wrapper - no eating! .... {just yet}
Oh, and here's a peek inside for the full effect....
Happy creating and baking!
Nat
Brilliant - Tfs :)x

Cool project though and I would love to try it out :)
I seem to be having issues opening the link though for the cupcake template pdf. It keeps taking me direct to http://kidsparties.about.com/. Is this what is supposed to happen?
Thanks Pickle :)

Hm, annoying that it won't open the full link - see the link to the main page here: http://kidsparties.about.com/od/diyideas/ht/CupcakeWrappers.htm
In the third paragraph it mentions the template and links to it.
Hope it works!
