I've you're bored of making cards in plain old square or rectangular shapes, then why not have a go at circular cards?
They are most addictive, and if you have Nestabilities dies or a Cricut, etc. then you can go the whole scallop route!
Once you get going they are ever so easy and quick to make.
I totally love the Cupcake Greetings set, it's perfect for adding a little something to projects - and the sentiments are so sweet! Obviously!
One tip when making this style of card is to assemble and stick down your main card design (including the punched border strips) before cutting the circle - makes it much easier to get everything lined up properly and looking nice and tidy. :o)
For this card I used the Build a Daisy set to create some mod flowers plus the little butterflies from Swirls and Butterflies.
Another tip: If you have any rigid sheets of kraft card (e.g., from packaging) this is the perfect stuff for creating these card blanks - you can use regular cardstock, but this thicker card stands up better and is really eye-catching.
See you don't necessarily have to use those petal stamps to create regular old flowers! :o)
For this card I used the frame, butterfly and swirl stamps from Swirls and Butterflies. The background of the label is stamped with the swirls using light aqua ink so it's a very subtle look.
And in case you are curious about the back of the cards and how they stand up, I just cut a strip of card and mounted it so that the card stood up nice and straight.
So if these projects have inspired you to make your own, share a link to your cards, I'd love to see what you make!
sono bellissime!
