Hello to a brand new month of Colour Focus. The Froglets were once again given a new inspirational piece.
This is a quilt pattern created by Sweetwater, who used to come out with their own brand of papers. They have now gone into fabrics and this particular quilt pattern can be bought from their Etsy store.
Heres's what the Froglets came up with:
Anthea created a LO using stamp sets from It's All About Stars, It's All About Flourishes, It's All About Scallops and Whirlgig.
TIP : Stamp designs onto paper flowers to customise them to your next project. Use up all of your left over chipboard letters and numbers by attaching them to a sheet of cardstock, then paint over the top of them. Once dry, stamp on the cardstock and build your layout up around the chipboard and stamped designs.
Emeline came up with a lovely card using the Flowery stamp set.
Francine was inspired by the colour combo and found a scrapbook kit with these perfect papers. She added a bit of red for a pop of colour. She used Pharmacy Large alphabet stamp set for her title. She used pop dots to raise the title letters and to add dimension.
Here's a closer view of it:
Jo used several stamp set to create the letter panel: Pharmacy, Willing Race and Dominique Large. For the patterned panels, she used Perfect Paisley and Scribble Flowers. The two scribble flower panels were embossed in Silver Pearl and both appeared to look different on different coloured bases.
This is an A5 card and Jo finds it quite liberating, working on such a big card. Here's a closer view of the card:
Julie has done a LO using stamp sets from Pharmacy, Journaling and It's All About Arrows stamp sets.
Kirsty has created a delightful cushion. She used the ampersand from Big Punctuation stamp set as a cross-stitch pattern to create a focal point for a small cushion (about 30cm square). It's really simple to do with larger, more solid stamps. Just ink them with an Erasable Fabric ink pad, press onto linen or a counted-thread fabric, and start sewing rows of cross-stitch on top. When done, any ink marks still showing can be wiped off with a damp sponge. To add the words on either side, she used Rosecube alphabet set and a black Staz-On pad. Home & Dry is a song lyric and is especially appropriate for a sofa-cushion, a place to feel safe and secure and somewhere you want to come back to. The idea would obviously work with all sorts of other titles e.g. 'peace & quiet', 'tea & biscuits' or even '(his name) & (her name)' for a thoroughly, personalised version.
Finally, Marion has produced a simple but effective LO. She stamped flowers from Funky Flowers stamp set onto plain and patterned cardstock, cut them out and mounted them. She also stamped the smallest flower from that set onto the chipboard flourish. The title was created using Dear Joe IV Upper stamp set.
Most of the creations were inspired by the colours on the quilt and one was particularly inspired by the numbers on the quilt. Once again, Banana Frog stamps have been employed rather creatively in the projects. Check back again on the 24th for more inspiration and ideas. Happy stamping!
