I'd like to introduce you to Fancy Clancy, so called because of his very splendid fancy trousers. This little chap (4.5x6in) was made from calico and of course Banana Frog stamps.
His trousers are stamped with the 'all about... circles' stamp set. But oh no, his banana frogginess doesn't stop there! He has hair - woodgrain from Shimelle's 'backgrounds' set , and his eyes are created from 'circus stories' and 'all about... circles'.
He's quite simple to create - cut rectangles of fabric, stamp the images, sew everything together. I've stuffed him from the top and sewn the edge up using blanket stitch to complement his hair. Add buttons and trims. When stamping on material don't forget to use a fabric ink such as fabrico.
And so he won't get lonely he has a friend: here he is with Doris who's wearing a 'skirt' stamped with flowers from the 'make a chain' set, and her eye is from 'circus stories' - not quite making the grade as a fully fledged follower of bananafrog fashion - unlike the very fancy Clancy!
I'd love to see if any of you have made stuffie/ plushy/ softie style toys using Banana Frog stamps. They are really good fun to make and you don't quite know how they are going to turn out until you've finished them, and there's no right or wrong - which is all part of the fun isn't it? :o)
Take care
Oh my, I WANT ONE! Jo he is gorgeous.
