Hello everyone! Francine here for my first post on the blog! I love using quotations, and excerpts from books, songs and movies on my scrapbook pages. Sometimes in my journaling, but also as a title. I love the look of a big title on a page, it becomes part of the design element, and can even be the focal point. I thought that the large Pharmacy stamps would be perfect for this kind of title and here's the layout I came up with.
To get the shaded effect, first I stamped each word with the lighter shade of ink
Then over-stamped with the black ink
Here's the complete title
Acrylic stamps are perfect for this kind of technique, because you can clearly see (pun intended) where to stamp the second layer to get the shadowing effect.
Here are a couple close up shots of the layout
I also used the Build-a-Bloom set on this page. One of the petals was used on the scalloped piece of music sheet paper, and one of the small flowers was used to stamp on the raw chipboard swirl.
Some more details about the layout: I opened a bunch of (actually 21) random everyday photos in Photoshop and used the Contact Sheet function to make the photo strips. If you have Photoshop you can find this function under File>Automate>Contact Sheet. Once I printed out the photos on A4 photo paper I cut the three strips out.
This is a great way to scrapbook any random photos you have that you're not sure how to scrapbook!
This layout is great! - the text shadowing is a very cool effect - it makes the letters seem dimensional. Very clever! :o)

Beautiful. I love how the title has come out with the over stamping!

Great layout, Francine. The dimensional/shadowed effect on the title is so clever - definitely filed away in my brain for future inspiration!
