For this project I used three designs from the 'Backgrounds' stamp set to recreate the patterns on some of my favourite fashion accessories at the moment: my animal print bags and my wooden heeled shoes!
To contrast with my pale 12x12 backing paper I made a richer timber effect using the woodgrain stamp and some metallic Brilliance inks:
The leopard-print pattern of my titling is a combination of a further two 'Backgrounds' stamps. I first stamped a series of the polka dot stamps onto white cardstock, then went back over the image to stamp the circle designs over the top. Finally I stamped a title in black using the 'Steelfish Outline' alphabet.
Adding a few naturally coloured buttons and lots of safari print ribbons completed my theme and my layout ...but then I started thinking. I also have some animal print accessories in 'non-natural' colours so I'm inspired to try these techniques again, only this time using pink, silver or orange to create some wild yet girly greetings cards!
If you make something 'wild' and wonderful with any of these ideas I'd love to see them - just give me a shout.
You know where to find me.
Julie :D

A layout totally worthy of such amazing shoes! I love how you've made the 'Backgrounds' stamps - which aren't obviously jungle-ish at all - blend in so brilliantly with the other animal prints.
