Wouldn't you agree?
While this statement - from the 'Cake Greetings' set:
... is true on any regular, run-of-the-mill week ... it's triply true of this week. Which is why I made a page in my art journal to mark it.
Firstly, it was my birthday this week. And cakes and birthdays go together like ... well, cakes and birthdays! Then I realised that this week marks my 2 year anniversary as a Banana Frog Design Team member! Slice of anniversary cake anyone?
And lastly [for it is lastly] it's also the week I've decided it's time to step down from my Design Team duties and gop on my merry way. [Preferably with a cake or two for the journey!]
It was a tough decision to make because I've loved my time as a Froglet.
I've loved the projects I've made - and having to focus my mind and creativities to come up with something new each month for the Projects of the Day, Colour Focus, Sketch Challenges. Plus it was fun seeing my cards on TV when Bev's been demoing the stamps! I've especially loved getting to create and share tutorials in the Lilypad Lessons and the lovely comments I've recieved from you during the blog-hops.
But it's time to move on ... not that I'm promising never to darken Banana Frog's door ever again. With Bev's kind agreement, I've made a note in my diary to drop by sometime and guest post.
If you'd like to re-cap on any of my Banana Frog projects from this last two years, I have a full list of them - complete with links - under the 'Design Team Projects' tab on my blog 'Notes on Paper'. You can just click here for the list.
It's an archive of projects which I'm really proud of. There's everything in there from stamping on T-shirts and shoes, to recreating Letterpress styles, making your own stamped jewellery and even finding moustache stamps in sets were there aren't any to begin with!
I hope that you find something there you'd forgotten or which you've never seen , but something which might just inspire you to clear a little space - in your schedule, and on a table - and get out your stamps, inks, paints, papers, fabrics etc etc ... and just enjoy yourself.
Because that's what it's all about!
And while you're there, make room for a slice of my farewell cake too, won't you?
I'll see you around.
Julie x
