Hi Debbie here :) Merry Christmas to you all, everyone finished their shopping? Me, nope, still a few bits to pick up on Christmas Eve but thats half the fun isnt it! lol
Here is a little crossover from the craftroom to the kitchen. As long as your stamps are clean anything goes so all you need is a box of ready to roll icing, a little icing sugar to scatter on the bench and rolling pin, some shape cutters, food colour pens and your stamps.
Scatter the icing sugar onto the bench and rolling pin so that the icing will not stick. Leave a little to one side too as you need to brush your stamps before you start stamping - this too will prevent sticking.
Roll out your icing to the required thickness.
Dust off any excess icing sugar so that you have a smooth dust free base to work on.
I used the stopper from my oil bottle as Im not exactly the cleanest person when it comes to my ink blocks and I wanted this to be edible! lol
Dust the stamps lightly with icing sugar and press into the icing, form a pattern as you go or use one larger stamp for a central image.
This can now be your base for a whole cake covering or then cut out shapes to adorn cookies and cupcakes.
You can also use food colouring pens to add a new dimention to your cakes - simply cover the stamp in the food colouring and press gently into the icing.
Leave to harden and use as you wish :)
Of course you dont need to use icing for this....you could use cookie dough, gingerbread (imagine how fab a gingerbread house with an impression of a tree on the side would look - you could even do the bricks etc too) So, let me know if you try this and please link up your projects as we love to see what you have made :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
All my love
Debbie
