Please smile and say 'cheese' ....
For this month's project I've been making these cute cameras from a combination of stamps sets which didn't begin life as cameras!
The main body of one of my designs uses the rectangle from Shimelle's 'Circus Stories ' set:
While two different sized 'lenses' came from 'Cake Greetings':
Once I had the main body of the camera, I built up the details of design by scouring my sets for any smaller block shapes and circles. The photo below shows a 'flashbulb' made from a section of an 'It's All about Arrows' arrow and a disc from 'Build A Daisy':
... with the lens raised using 3D foam pads:
The little rectangular 'view finder' below:
I hope you've been inspired to take another look at your stamps and make the most of the designs and shapes you have. Until I began these ... I didn't know I had some cute retro camera themed stamps hiding in my stash!
Go and take a look through your sets for clean, basic, graphic outlines [which Banana Frog is known for] and experiment with finding alternative uses for those shapes.
For more inspiration on how to adapt designs you might like to re-visit two of my previous Banana Frog projects in which I made cards featuring:
... even though there are [as yet] no actual sets featuring moustaches and sunglasses!!
If you'd like to see how I've used my camera-themed toppers:
... on both cards and a scrapbook page ... then make a date to hop by and see me on my blog in a fornight's time [30th Sept] when I'll be sharing those projects as part of this month's Banana Frog Design Team blog hop.
You might want to have your best outfit on and your hair brushed because ... I'll be taking photos!
See you on September 30th then?
