I'm loving the new stamps -- especially It's All About Scallops! Today's project of the day can be finished in just a few minutes, so give it a try!
You'll need to stamp two things: stamp the journaling box on one piece of paper and cut into a rectangle. I only inked the frame, but you can leave the lines if you prefer. I wanted to let the dots on this patterned paper show. Then stamp the short scallop border on a separate piece of paper.
Cut around the scallops and leave plenty of space above the stamped design. Line up with the journaling box, trim any excess and add a loop of ribbon to the back. Sew a straight line through the sandwich of two layers of paper plus the ribbon loop. Don't use any extra adhesive on the paper. That's what lets it work as a book mark -- you can park your page in between the two layers and not have to worry about any glue, since just the stitches hold the bookmark together.
Add any extra embellishment you fancy on top or in the journaling frame...or leave the frame empty for notes as you read your book.
If you're looking for a sweet-free Valentine's present, you could whip up a basket of these in no time -- just use Valentine colours and maybe add a heart instead of a flower to the top corner.
Happy reading!
Love and glitter,
Shimelle
