We had so many wonderful submissions for the 2009 Banana Frog design team that in addition to our amazing design team, each month we will have a guest designer showing you fantastic creations. The guest designer will have two days to show their lovely projects, 1st and 15th of the month.
Our first guest designer for 2009 is the lovely and talented Leanne Inkpen.
Over to Leanne...
i love {k}
I loved the I Heart You set of stamps, and knew straight away it would be perfect to scrap a photo of Kevin. I started off by stamping all the images a couple of times on a sheet of white bazzil in various shades of pink. I then cut each heart shape out to see which were the best etc.
To make the heart border I stuck the photo down in place and started playing with my heart shapes to get them in a nice order. These were then stuck down. For the top layer I stuck foam pads on the back of the heart shapes, but left the backing on, so I could place them before sticking them down. The journalling blocks were just using some left over bazzil, which i stamped the 'I' from the pharmacy set and used the little 'love' word tile for interest. I punched the edges using the fiskars threading water punch. I then edged the paper with a black line to pull everything together.
A second layout by Leanne shows each month from 2008.
Shimelle's designs in the Paperchains set are really fun, and completely inspired my title design for this layout.
I created a 'bunting' effect by stamping the triangle onto some October Afternoon paper. I stuck these down with foam pads to add dimension - then added the tied part to the end of the line. I used the Circus Stories stamp for the 2008 title, again using the pharmacy stamps - I embellished this using some Kaiser Crafts pearls.
The photo montage I created on Picasa, a free photo storage software from Google. I trawled through all my photos and picked one from each month of last year.
For the Month tiles on the photos - I used the paperchains circle stamp and the mini alphabet - which fitted perfectly. I cut these out and stuck with foam pads to the pictures. To add the journalling I echoed the white paint effect already on the paper and created a painted journalling block. In here I listed a selection of this which happened during the years. To finish off I stamped the swirls from Circus Stories.
We would like to thank you Leanne so much for two gorgeous layouts, see more loveliness from Leanne on the 15th!
